Ever since I heard Andrew Jones give a demo of his TAD Reference One loudspeakers at CES, I’ve been a sucker for a beryllium tweeter! I also love the (still expensive but much more affordable!) performance of Revel’s PerformaBe line-up, which feature beryllium tweeters for terrific detail.

The PerformaBe F328Be speakers take what makes the F228Be so good and dial it up several levels.

The £2000 loudspeaker market is becoming an increasingly competitive place, and manufacturers now have to work harder than ever to ensure their products stand out from the crowd. One such is Harman International, and one of the loudspeaker brands bearing its technological know-how is Revel.

Kalifornská firma Revel patří do koncernu Harman a od roku 1996 se specializuje na vývoj a výrobu reproduktorových soustav pro stereofonní systémy, domácí kino, ale i vestavby do stěn interiérů. Revel patří mezi ty firmy, které vyvíjejí a vyrábějí vlastní reproduktorové systémy.

Americká firma Revel z koncernu Harman Audio se na trhu s hifi technikou objevila v roce 1996, vlastně ne tak dávno, a upoutala na sebe pozornost především nezvykle řešenými krycími mřížkami reproduktorových soustav série Ultima. Vedle tohoto designového originálu byly soustavy nepřehlédnutelné kvalitní reprodukcí a zařadily se tak do kategorie high-end. Jistě se na tom kromě dokonalé konstrukce při vývoji podepsalo kvalifikované subjektivní posuzování kvality a zodpovědné porovnávání s konkurencí.

Firma Revel patří do amerického koncernu Harman, který je v komerční oblasti znám především téměř exkluzivními značkami JBL, Mark Levinson, AKG, Lexikon a dalšími. Přestože Revel nepatří mezi ty nejznámější, zcela jistě patří mezi technologicky špičkové. Soustřeďuje se především na zodpovědný vývoj jak samotných měničů-reproduktorů, tak finálních reproduktorových soustav.

Firma Revel ze skupiny Harman International trochu unikala naší pozornosti. Kalifornský výrobce se soustřeďuje na vývoj a výrobu reproduktorových soustav, exkluzivních jak technicky, tak technologickým zpracováním. Ve výrobním programu jsou kromě vestaveb a reproduktorových systémů pro instalaci do automobilů čtyři základní řady soustav.
