Designed for the critical center channel in multi-channel cinema and music systems, the C50a best complements the F50a loudspeaker, providing natural timbre balance and superb detail. It is the ultimate center channel for any Performa system.

Featuring two 6½-inch ceramic composite cone woofers housed in cast alloy frames, along with a 4-inch ceramic composite midrange and a 1-inch aluminum alloy dome tweeter, the C50a is equipped with two different tuning controls for optimal placement flexibility. The Placement Compensation Control allows the C50a to provide the correct tonal balance for three different placement options: Stand mounting in front of a rear projection or front projection screen; top mounting, for placement above a video monitor, and flush mounting for placement in a wall unit or wall cavity. An additional control, High Frequency Level, provides a precise adjustment to balance the treble in any placement position or room.

High-order precision crossovers are mounted on individual circuit boards for the low, middle and high frequency drivers, preventing distortion caused by mutual component interference. All drivers are magnetically shielded to minimize video interference. Each C50a is hand-tuned to match the production reference standard to a fraction of a decibel for outstanding unit-to-unit consistency.

The C50a cabinet design compliments that of the F50a. It is internally braced to damp unwanted vibrations and eliminate undesirable colorations. Laser Interferometry is used to establish the amount and location of the bracing. Two sets of spikes are included for precise aiming of the C50a at the listening position when mounted above the listener’s head. An optional black pedestal is also available for floor mounting, properly angling the C50a upward toward the listening position. The C50a is available in three real-wood veneer finishes: natural cherry, maple, or black ash.
